hey there! here is ur answer-

For a fire you need four things:

Fuel
Heat
Oxygen
Chemical Reaction

If any of these four is removed from the equation then a fire is extinguished.

Water works primarily by removing heat from the reaction.  Also a surfactant can be added to smother the fire thus denying it oxygen.

water helps in stoping fire
when we pour water in fire the water get evaporated and it will surround the fire after being vapour it will stop the supply of oxygen
