WATER OF CRYSTALLISATION:

The fixed amount of water present in one formula unit of a salt is known as water of crystallisation.

it varies from substance to substance for example cuppersulphate has 5 water molecules and bauxite has 2 water molecules

hence by this we can identify different substances and it's properties
