Water rise up in tall trees by the process of osmosis. and the loss of water in tall trees by the process of transpiration also helps I upward movement of water..

Water rises up in tall trees maily because of the root pressure but transpiration also helps to pull the water up in tall trees. These both methods are used at day to make water tise up. Now in root pressure the roots absorb water through osmosis in such a way that pressure is created forcing water to jump up to a certain distance. This alone takes too much time for water to reach the upper tree so the process transpiration further pulls up the water which is then recieved by leaves.
