How dose carbon dioxide help in extinguishing fire??plz help me friends...​

Carbon dioxide extinguishes work by displacing oxygen, or taking away the oxygen element of the fire triangle. The carbon dioxide is also very cold as it comes out of the extinguisher, so it cools the fuel as well.

We know oxygen is required for combustion to take place but when carbon dioxide is given to the fire it cuts off the supply of oxygen to the fire so the fire extinguishes in short of oxygen.
