How dry weight decreases during Respiration ?

Yes,during respiration there is loss in dry weight.increase in dry weight takes place in process of photosynthesis of plants but respiration is a complete opposite process when compared to photosynthesis .so during respiration energy is given out . ... due to this in respiration dry weight of plants decrease

because respiration is a catabolic pathway in one way as it leads to breaking of glucose while the process photosynthesis is biomass production(i.e., in the form of glucose), process which will cause a certain increase in mass. while considering respiration we should consider that it's an energy producing process, therefore it will utilize biomass to produce energy by chemical breaking of biomass therefore it will definitely lead to loss in dry weight in same way as photosynthesis lead to increase in biomass.
