Ears not only play important role in hearing, but also maintain our body balance.
There are fluid fillled Semi-Circular Canals in the inner ear. When you rotate (move round and round), the fluid in the semi circular canals also move. These impulses are transmitted to the brain by the auditory nerve in our ear. Thus, our brain senses that we are in motion and prepares our body for the next step, so that we don't fall down.
The utriculus and sacculus (present below the Semi circular canals) help in static body balance.
