In 1953, Fidel Castro tried to overthrow the guy in charge (Batista), but failed, eventually. He was thrown in jail and then fled Cuba for Mexico. In Mexico, he met Ché Guevara. Ché had been traveling around South America and Central America seeing how awful large corporations were treating the Latin American workers. During his journeys he grew to dislike big businesses.
