Eigenvalues for symmetric and skew-symmetric part of a matrix. Every real matrix can be decomposed into symmetric and skew-symmetric part. Symmetric matrix has only real numbers as its eigenvalues (including ) and skew-symmetric matrix has only imaginary values (also including ).
