the regulator is a device which is used to increase or decrease the current in a circuit.

Explanation:

  • The resistance is present in a regulator which is of varing value. As a result of this when the electric current is  increase there is an increase of the resistance of the wire which is present in the regulator and as a result of this there is decrease in the flow of current.
  • When there is  decrease in current there is  decrease in the resistance. Hence a constant value of current is maintained in case of the regulator
