an electric fan consists of a motor which draws power from the main supply of the house through the wires. the blades of the fan are the propeller connected to the motor.
when the current is switched on the blades start rotating.since the blades are curved they take in air from above and release it down to us. this is how an electric fan works. to control the fan speed we use regulators which is basically a resistor and supplies different amount of current to fan making it slow or fast.
