Heya frnd..

Ur answer..

⤵⤵

✔Electrolysis is a process in which electric current is passed trough the molten salt to obtain pure metal.

✔This process is used for extracting the highly reactive metals such as
potassium, sodium , calcium, magnessium and aluminium.

✔The highly reactive metals are extracted by the electrolytic reduction o their molten chlorides or oxides.

✔During electrolysis the pure metal form near the cathode i.e. negative electrode and the gases are formed in at the anode i.e. the positive electrode.

✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴

For example : -

⏩ Extraction of Sodium Metal :

》Sodium metal is extracted by the electrolytic reduction of molten sodium chloride.

》When electric current is passed through molten sodium chloride, it decomposes to form sodium metal and chlorine gas.

⏩ Reaction involved :

2NaCl (l) ➡ 2Na (s) + Cl2 (g)✔✔

Now the sodium metal will form near the cathode and the chlorine gas will form near the anode.

HOPE IT WILL HELP..♡♡
