Electron discovery is really interesting. A metal is bombarded with alpha particles by thomson et.al and a beam is observed and at that time any radiation or beam is supposed to be made up of photon but photon does not bend in magnetic and electric field so they irradiated this beam to electric and magnetic field and they observe that the beam from that metal is deviating towards positive terminal of electric field so than they concluded that the beam is made up of negatively charged particles and then named them as electrons.
