The fetus gets everything that it needs via the umbilical cord, from the placenta, for the duration of the pregnancy. Nutrition is exchanged through the placenta, from what the mother eats to what the fetus needs. Even if the mother doesn't provide all of the nutrition needed, it will be pulled from her body and provided to to the fetus . ✔✔✔
