how energy is formed from oxidation of carbohydrates, fats and proteins please please answer
Answers
Answer:
First let us be very clear…. This type of reaction is generally termed as catabolic reaction. It is completed by breaking down of the molecules. To generate energy our body breaks down the available amount of carbs, small proteins and fats.
• Glucose in our body under goes glycogenesis and is stored in the form of glycogen. Later on hormone glucagon breaks it down such the blood sugar level is increased.
• Sugar is believed to provide our body with energy. Glucose in turn breaks down into pyruvic sugars. In case oxygen level is reduced then pyruvic acid is converted into lactic acid and in presence of oxygen it is converted back into pyruvic acid.
• Fats are converted into energy by undergoing a type of reaction termed as Beta reaction. This process takes place in the krebs cycle. Fats in our body are converted into acetyl sugar during the krebs cycle so they are rich in oxygen.
• For our body, proteins are considered as least source of energy at the time of need. Proteins mainly are composed of amino acids so at the time of digestion of food we are left with amino acids.
• The moment our body needs to make use of amino acids as energy it is important for it to convert it into sugar. As Amino acids are composed of Nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and carbon so it is important for our body to take away the nitrogen before it can be converted into sugar.
• This is done by the process termed as deamination. The process takes place in the liver releasing urea into the blood stream. The moment nitrogen is reduced, energy can be produced by our body.
