Julius Caesar was responsible for his own death to a certain extent. First, he was vain and overconfident. Second, ignored the beseeching Calpurnia who warned him against going out due to her dream and what the watchmen had seen. Third, he easily fell prey to Decius's flattery who interpreted Calpurnia's dream in his own way and presented it as a fortunate vision.
