How far can we say that Julius Caeser was responsible for his own death?

  2. He was so overconfident about himself.
  3. He didn't even bother to listen to his wife.
  4. He was forced to believe in the words of Decius Brutus giving no value for Calpurnias words.

Julius Caesar was responsible for his own death to a certain extent. First, he was vain and overconfident. Second, ignored the beseeching Calpurnia who warned him against going out due to her dream and what the watchmen had seen. Third, he easily fell prey to Decius's flattery who interpreted Calpurnia's dream in his own way and presented it as a fortunate vision.
