Concept

The first equation of motion is v =u + at

The third equation of motion is  v² = u² + 2as

Here, v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration and it is the time.

Given

The initial velocity is 2 m/s and its acceleration is 2 m/s² in the forward direction.

To find

We have to calculate how far a car can travel in 6 s.

Solution

At initially t = 6, u = 2 and a = 2

Apply first equation of motion

v = u + at

  = 2 + 2(6)

  = 14 m/s

Now apply third equation of motion

v² = u² + 2as

Substitute the value.

14² = 2² + 2(2)s

196 = 4 +4s

4s = 192

 s = 192/4

 s = 48 m

Hence car travel 48 m.
