A democracy is a form of government in which the leaders are elected by the people. but its not all . it is a just a starting point . For a country to be democratic it should have the following features:
*major decisions taken by elected leaders
*free and fair election
*universal adult franchise
*people should get basic rights....... and many other features
Most of the countries who argue to be a democratic do not have all of these features . take the eg of Saudi Arabia , where women do not have voting rights or the eg of zimbawe where people do not get their basic rights.
Even the countries which have all of these features do not follow them up to any extend . take the eg of India . It has almost every features. but still in some parts people are discriminated and are forced to do things they dont wish to do.
however it is very difficult for country to be a perfect democracy. so it is correct to say that no country is a perfect democracy
