Answer:

We know from the question that

f=20 , v=30, u=?

1/f= 1/v-1/u

Therefore, 1/20=1/30-1/u

1/20-1/30 = -1/u

3-2/60 =-1/u

1/60 =-1/u

u = -60cm

An object should be placed at distance 60 cm from the convex lens.

hì/hó = v/u

hi/6. = 30/-60

hi/6 = 1/-2

hi = -3cm

Height of image=3 cm
