Doctrine of lapse is the policy of Annexation of lndian states by Lord Dalhousie according to this policy they were not allowed to adopt heir to the throne this ensured that those kingdoms where the king did not have natural heir would be taken over by the British after demise of the king .lt created fear and resentment among lndian rulers.
