economic crises, shah jahan had emptied treasures of mughal empire due to his lavish spending, it is also suggested that conquering south india was aurangzeb’s blunder and also put pressure on treasury, that coupled with the death of his successor son through his own brother led to civil war which very much weakened mughal empire
