A fire retardant has foam content which is a mixture of nitrogen and a bad conductor of fire.. it is spryed on the place where the fire lit. it also contains CO2.

this foam mixture is used to reduce the fire and saves the fire place

it contains nitrogen and co2 which are both bad conductors of heat other than that they also cut off o2 supply from the fire
