There is a close interdependence between flora and fauna.The following points reveal the fact:

1. Green plants maintain the ecological balance by taking in carbon- dioxide from air during photosynthesis which is a harmful gas and give out oxygen.This oxygen is a source of survival for the animals which they breathe in during respiration.Hence,animals need plants for survival.

2.Animals play a vital role in spreading out the seeds and fruits of flowering animals.The herbivorous animals at fruits and the seeds either somehow get stuck to their body or come out through faeces without getting digested.Such seeds are still in a position to germinate.

3.Hervivorous animals are dependent on plants for food.They get their nutrition from green plants.Similarly,plants need animals especially organisms like bees, butterflies, which help in pollination.They also need earthworm who make the soil productive and fertile.
