at the time of vomiting., reverse peristalysis occurs in our body.

it means the food comes from stomach to mouth by reverse peristatlysis i.e., contraction and relaxation of circular and longitudinal muscles of gut.

Local irritation of the stomach, such as bacteria or food poisoning, activates the emetic center of the brain which in turn signals an imminent vomiting reflex. Food then moves in the opposite direction, often from the duodenum into the stomach. This process is called retroperistalsis.
