Forests consists of trees and plants . And these Trees have roots deep in the earth surface , roots hold the water at one place and doesn't allow it to move freely as tree consumes water . So more trees would be a blockage of the water and water would stay at a place, and trees also prevent soil erosion by water as roots hold all the things .
