All the fuels except dry leaves and agricultural waste are fossil fuels.These are formed over a long period of time and preserved inside Earth's crust at the remains of animals and plants. Coal Petroleum and natural gas are the example of fossil fuel.All the fossil fuels are non renewablec sources of energy.

Formation ---
it is believed that as a result of natural calamities such as earthquake flood Storms and cyclones a large number of animals and plants got buried inside the earth under large pressure at very high temperature and humid conditions in the absence of air. Due to certain bacterial decomposition,buried and animals and plants were converted into coal and petroleum and also as well as Natural Gas.

anything with price energy in calories can be termed as fossil fuels fossil fuels are formed by plants and animals when they visit inside the earth because of high temperature and high pressure be converted into fossil fuel
