How French society organized in 18 century

The simple answer would be that is was stratified and oppressive enough to have spawned the blood-soaked French Revolution. Unlike the American Revolution, in which the colonies fought a war against the Empire, the revolution took place within the French homeland with all the slaughter being localized. From 1786 to 1799, French ‘society ‘ was in chaos due to the boiling over of societal differences and economic strains.

I wouId say it’s similar to the current situation in the US but I’m an optomist.
