Explanation:

friction is produced whenever two bodies try to to move against each other and the small irregularities between them oppose their motion.

now friction can be reduced by three major ways:-

1) polishing :- we rub the surface enough to smooth the irregularities then the friction becomes less and motion or movement can be easily achieved

example:- polishing the floor to make it frictionless for skating

2) lubrication:- applying certain fluids on rough surfaces which can fill the irregularities between them and help in smooth motion.

lubrication also prevents corrosion of metals such as iron.

example :- applying oil in motor parts

so they can run smoothly

3)streamlined shape :- when certain body or object has. a streamlined shape or narrow face which is broader at the back then it can overcome the air resistance or water resistance

as the shape becomes

aerodynamic (in air )

or hydrodynamic (in water)

and hence move smoothly. with speed

example :- the fishes in water bodies like sea or ocean have streamlined body shape inorder to overcome friction of water.

the racing cars such as formula one also have aerodynamic shape which helps them to run fast over tracks and over air resistance which is also a type if friction.
