How gases exchange occurs in alveoli ?

Answer =

  • Gas exchange takes place in the millions of alveoli in the lungs and the capillaries that envelop them.

  • Inhaled oxygen moves from the alveoli to the blood in the capillaries, and carbon dioxide moves from the blood in the capillaries to the air in the alveoli.

Question:-

how gaseous exchange occurs in alveoli?

{\red{\underline{\underline{\bold{Answer:-}}}}}

Gas Exchange:-

  • Gas exchange is the ‘exchange’ of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the lungs.

  • But it actually happens in a very specific part of the lungs, the Alveoli.

  • The Alveoli, are located on the bronchioles and are surrounded by capillaries, tiny blood vessels.

  • When you breathe in the Alveoli get filled with air, which has oxygen,

  • making the concentration of oxygen in the Alveoli be higher than in the blood vessel surrounding it,

  • therefore it diffuses into the blood vessel.

At the same time, carbon dioxide in the blood diffuses into the Alveoli and is exhaled out.

hope it helps you..
