Genetic monotony is the result of asexual reproduction which produces exactly identical progeny generation after generation.

Sexual reproduction is important to avoid genetic monotony,because through sexual reproduction variety of organisms are produced.

In those species that reproduce sexually, the situation is different as the offspring’s genetic material comes about by mixing two halves taken from each of the parents.
