you have to read chapters by heart and thorough reading should be there you have to learn dates years and names of all the rulers it's not an hard subject but it's a scoring subject

I too personally am a great scorer in social science the only thing that helped me was the book and my mum she herself is a social science teacher. The note book doesn't help at all *not literally* but yes when you write the answers in your own language it feels like a accomplishment and that's what gives you the motivation to score more.
