how go you factorise 4x^2 -100

Now, taking 4 as common,
4x^2 - 100.
= 4 (x^2 - 25)
= 4 (x^2 - 5^2)

Now, using identity a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)
= 4(x^2 - 5^2)
= 4 (x+5)(x-5)
