Deeds should be done with intention and not for attention. In the words of Saint Basil "A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship and he who plants kindness gathers love." If a person commits a bad deed it affects his life. When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird dies; ants eat it. One tree can be made into a million matchsticks, but only one matchstick is required to burn a million trees. Circumstances can change at anytime. So one should never devalue or hurt anyone in this life. You may be powerful today but time is more powerful than you. As you sow so shall you reap. If you commit a bad deed you actually degrade your personality. The effect of our actions may be postponed but they are never lost. There is an inevitable reward for good deeds and an inescapable punishment for bad. Meditate upon this truth, and seek always to earn good wages from destiny. With every deed you are sowing a seed though the harvest you may not see. Performing a good deed builds up a good personality. It makes you feel proud of yourself.
