Graphite is an allotrope of carbon which is branched in the form of hexagon as it form hexagon branches only three electrons of carbon are bonded.thus there will one more electron which is left free. This electron moves . Thus movement of electron allows graphite to conduct electricity all though it is a non metal

Answer:
Why is graphite The only non metal that conducts electricity? Graphite on the other hand, although also only made up of carbon atoms, is the only non-metal that can conduct electricity. This is because only 3 of the available valence electrons form covalent bonds leaving 1 spare electron, which then becomes delocalised.
