Growing population :

Growing population is one of the basic factors which is responsible for the scarcity of water.

Most of our cities are facing this problem due to overpopulation.

A large population means more water not only for domestic use but also to produce more food.

Industrialisation:-

It has led to water depletion as they are heavy users of water

Also they need water to generate hydroelectric power to run them

Urbanisation:-

Many households in the Urban areas have their own groundwater pumping system to meet their water requirements

Pollution:-

Many people have started using water sources as a mean of dumping waste

This is commonly done by big industries

This affects the aquatic life in the water and this leads to bad quality of water
