"Cold water colors are used for batik, as when hot water colors are used, the wax will melt. The cloth is plunged into the dye bath. The open areas absorb the dye known as the dyeing/immersion method.
In very close sections, the cloth is stitched to form different designs. The tissue is then dyed. The uniqueness of the design is dependent on the type of coating.
Rajasthani Dupattas are usually made using the technique of stitching.
This checked tie-dye pattern is hard to miss. It is essentially in the Leheriya's double coloring called Mothra Dupatta."
