The equipment or tools that are used by cricket players on the field are the wickets, bails, ball, bat, helmet, guard, leg pads, chest pads, elbow pad etc.

Long ago the game was played in villages with boundaries being quite distant from the pitch. The same flavour remains in the test cricket and first class cricket. It takes days to play one match. They have practice, breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner all through a day associated with the breaks.  The large scoreboard display is still there in the stadium.  The scoring runs are still the same.  The toss at the beginning is still the same.

Initially there was no need for pads. As pacemen increased their speed, the pads are made of better and lighter material vulcanized rubber.  The shoes changed from flat bottom to studs and spikes. Lightweight and strong helmets came in.

Off the field, so many cameras are used for various purposes.  There are side screens for better view of the ball. Phones are used by umpires nowadays. Nowadays a lot of equipment is used to lay a pitch and to handle rain water to restart the game quickly.
