Answer:Men and women of all ages and social classes are in procession offering homage(salute) to the Statue of Liberty .

The Statue of Liberty has torch of enlightenment in one hand and charter(list) of rights of men in another hand.

The Christ and Angels gaze from heaven symbolising fraternity (brotherhood) among the nation.

The symbols of absolutist institution lie broken on the ground.

This procession was followed by US and Swisterland.

Next comes France with its revolutionary tricolour blue, white, red flag.

Next comes Germany with its black, red, golden flag.

This is lead by Lombardy,Poland,England,Ireland,Hungary and Russia.

In the first print the artist shows the people of Europe and America— men and women of all ages and social classes— marching in a long train offering homage to the statue of Liberty as they past by it.

At that time after French revolution, 'liberty' was imagined as a female figure who held the torch of enlightenment in one hand and the charter of rights of man and in the other.

In the foreground the artist depicted the shattered remains of the symbols of absolutist institutions. In Sorrieu's idealist vision, the people of the word are grouped as distinct Nations, identified through their flags and national costumes.

Leading the procession are the states of United States and Switzerland which were already nation states by that time. France with its revolutionary tricolour flag, had just reached the status.
