1. It was the home of one of the world's earliest civilizations. The prehistoric settlements and societies like the Indus Valley Civilization were found here.
2. Two major religions of the world were born here. Lord Buddha who was a prince started Buddhism which spread to many parts of the world. Lord Mahavira propagated Jainism which also spread to other countries.
3. India is a member of several international organizations like SAARC, WHO, UNESCO, UNO and has contributed to the world through these platforms and helped in many historic developments.
