Mid Day Meal Scheme

This scheme was launched by the government in 1995.

The whole and sole objective of this scheme was to increase the attendance

of children in school in rural areas.

This aims to thr primary and upper primary level in improving the nutritional status of children, encouraging poor children, belonging to disadvantaged sections, to attend school more regularly and help them concentrate on classroom activities.

The MDM scheme attracted around

crores of rural student to fulfill their basic nutritional requirements and get educated.
