decline in the death rate has lead to population bursts (or bombs, whatever you call them). resources on earth are limited, while the population is growing at a drastically growing rat. this results in a shortage of resources and poverty

But if we look history, thoudand of people died 'cause of starvation and diseases. In this time, harmful diseases can be cure by using new technolgy. Very few die 'cause of starvation as govt. is distributing food at low prices.
