Answer Without petroleum it would have been very hard for us to go to other places easily, it is also used as fuel and many more. Such an important resource led to so many discoveries so obviously  that many countries made a huge profit of it. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Canada etc have become big oil hubs and their petroleum is sold world wide.

Explanation: Oil: lifeblood of the industrialised nations Oil has become the world's most important source of energy since the mid-1950s. Its products underpin modern society, mainly supplying energy to power industry, heat homes and provide fuel for vehicles and aeroplanes to carry goods and people all over the world. Do note that petroleum is a non- renewable resource so steps has to be taken to conserve it.
