The idea of power sharing has emerged in opposition to undivided political power. For a long time it was believed that power resides in one authority or individual. If power is shared among people then hindrances can be faced based on delay in decision making but the principle of democracy is that though there is a delay in decision making it can be readily accepted by people. An idea emerged that power should be equally shared.
