A transistor is a small electronic component , composed of semiconductor material like :- germanium and silicon. it is used in a circuit to control the large amount of current or voltage with a small amount of voltage or current. The above statement means that it can be used to amplify or rectify electrical signals or power.

transistors played a huge impact in the world of electronics and also on designing of computers. The first generation of computer was vaccum tubes, it was not quite enough to fulfill the requirements. it wasn't a very good efficient technology, the reason behind it was lot's of tubes and bulbs are required, as compared to vaccum tubes, transistors have numerous advantages such as :- they are small in size, also they
consumes less power for use, they can function at lower voltages. transistors are durable but vaccum tubes regularly break and have to replaced.

Transistors were first invented by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain and William Shockley in 1947 at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey.

In a digital age of life transistors have become one of the important and crucial part of modern technology. as it is used in everywhere. switching devices which consists microprocessors , transistors are mainly found in our smartphones, digital cameras, satellite navigation system , electronic games , and in desktops and laptops etc.

The invention of the transistor made the computer. In time, their size became smaller. Their power of power (processing power) and memory space (memory) increased per year. After 10 years from now onwards, processing power will get 100 times the memory, 1,000 times the memory, and 10,000 times the bandwidth. Increasing productivity and quality by making computer use possible in every field in the 1970s. The importance of information increased so that the digital economy (information economy) and now the knowledge economy (knowledge-based economy) has become the basis pillar of the world economy.
