India follows the principle equality in every way and ensures that it reaches all the people .In a democratic country as India all the citizens have the rights to contest in election .

Reservation of constituencies in election ensures that the right to equality of people is not violated.By doing so it avoids the domination of higher classes of the society on the backward classes like sc and st.

It is reserved on the basis of the ratio of the weaker sections to the whole population of India, (SC and ST). So, it doesn't dominate the majorities, abd also doesn't deprive the voice of other general people.

In this way there are 47 reserved constituencies for SC and 84 reserved constituencies for ST.
