Democracy has sometimes fallen far below the expectations of people living in a democratic country. Sometimes the freedom of expression gets chocked by the people in power and the truth remains behind a created curtain. The right to choose their own representatives are also sometimes forcefully curtailed by goons and people have to keep quiet. There are other points of democracies that are now found in the books and are not applicable in practical sense.
