Due to increase in kinetic energy , molecules break the intermolecular force of attraction and escape in the form of gas. The energy absorbed by the solid molecules to increase its kinetic energy is in form of heat. In this way heat transfer takes place when solid sublimes....

the heat is transfered into potential energy as the molecules/atoms in the solid move further apart and bonds are broken. the energy does not become kinetic energy as during the state change the temperature will remain constant so the kinetic energy must be constant
