How height became 3 in two parallel sides of an isosceles trapezium are 6cm and 14 cm.lf the length of non parallel side is 5cm.

Soultion :

Given that paralle sides are 6 cm and 14cm . And non parallel sides 5cm.

If we drop perpendicular from smaller on larger side from end points . We get the larger side divided in 3 portion of length 4,6,4 .

so now if we take right triangle with base 4cm and hypotenuse 5cm and apply pythagoras theorem , we get

H = √(5²-4²)

⇒ H = √(25-16)

⇒ H = √9

∴ H = 3 .
