  1. The Himalayas act as a barrier for the subcontinent to block the the cold winds coming from Central Asia and the Tibet
  2. The Himalayas blocks the monsoon originated at bay of Bengal to further advance into Asia and this cause the downpour of monsoon in north, and central India .
  3. It is also the reason of retreating monsoon showers in southern India mainly Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
  4. The Himalayas is also the origin of many rivers and have prosper the northern part of India with fertile plains .
