However, as the popular cinema ( Hollywood and Bollywood ) has solved with advanced techniques and modern ideas, there has been a perceptible neglect of the folk culture. This has been witnessed in
- the protagonists is almost always a cosmopolitan citizen without any direct affiliations to any culture, in order to appeal to all sections of audience.
- Art Forms depicted in the shape of music and dance are predominantly derived from modern themes and western influences ignoring the vast variety that exists in the folk ways.

However, there are certain new and creative talent in the popular cinema industry that have taken the initiative to portray the mindset and ways of living of the rural folks in their preserved forms.
