_____________________________________________________________

Homologous organs are the organs with a same structure and origin but have different functions…organs raised with same structural features have evolved to perform various functions in order to meet their different needs. Thus a homologous organ is an example of divergent evolution which supports common ancestry.

Eg. Vertibrate heart and vertibrate brain

But in the case of analogous organs, they have the same function but different structure and origin.it an example of convergent Evolution.

Eg. The eye of octopus and mammals
